I combine the Chrysalis Effect online recovery programme, specialist recovery coaching support and Nutritional Therapy advice. This service can be enhanced by the inclusion of genetic and/or functional testing to understand what is happening on a physiological level; this can really help to further personalise your programme. Sally will advise with regards to what might be of most benefit for you.
The Chrysalis Effect is a highly successful online ME, CFS & Fibromyalgia pathway and support community that was launched in 2008. The Chrysalis Effect are currently running trials with the NHS in parts of the UK with some exciting results. If you live in one of the parts of the country where this is being trialled you may be eligible to join - please enquire for more information. The programme includes a series of online videos with support actions to complete between sessions. The programme is full of excellent information and exercises which can be done independently. However, working with a Chrysalis Effect Specialist Practitioner (like me) can really help to bring the programme to life and ensures that it is tailored to meet your unique needs.
Nutrition is a really important area to focus on when you are looking to reclaim your vitality. At the start, this might be looking at how to make easy yet nutritious food, but there are many other areas that we can focus on too. Supporting physiological imbalances that might be impacting on your health is really important e.g. digestion, stress response, immunity, mitochondria and thyroid. These imbalances can be identified through genetic and/or functional testing which is often a fundamental part of my approach. We then work on the imbalances through making dietary, lifestyle and nutritional supplement changes.
The first step is to book a discovery call where we can discuss the programme and I can answer any questions that you might have.
You then sign up for The Chrysalis Effect online programme and start to receive the online modules to work through.
We book in our sessions (which are usually 1 hour slots held monthly) - these are online video calls using Zoom. We will discuss any relevant testing during our sessions.
Full details are provided via the Booking & Prices link above.
Please note that testing and nutritional supplement costs are in addition to the programme costs. These are always optional and will only be recommended if I feel that they will be of particular benefit to you. Nutritional Supplements can be really beneficial but any possible interactions with your existing medication will always be thoroughly researched. A 15% discount will be available for all clients for supplements purchased via The Natural Dispensary.
This is a question I get asked a lot. For me, recovery has meant rediscovering my energy, enthusiasm and zest for life. I am able to balance work with family life. I can socialise with friends and enjoy yoga and wild swimming. I no longer have energy crashes or post exertional malaise.
I know many many people who have recovered and now live enjoyable and fulfilling lives.
However, recovery is personal and it means different things to different people. There is no quick fix for fatigue conditions, and no medicine exists to cure or treat. For this reason, the NHS approach is usually focused on symptom management and as a result many believe that recovery is not possible. However, this is a belief that I challenge wholeheartedly. We need to look at the root cause of someone's ill health so we can rebuild it from the inside out. The research points to a multitude of reasons why someone might develop these chronic health conditions, so my role is to identify what these are for each client and then support these pathways with a view to restoring balance. Everyone is unique so their recovery path is unique too - it is definitely not a 'one-size-fits-all'.
The great news is that there are several Clinics in the UK that are able to guide clients to more vital health, the NHS is now trialling The Chrysalis Effect model with some exciting results and there is an ever growing body of research looking at different aspects of ME/CFS/ Fibromyalgia and Long Covid that provide us with some excellent data on which to work with.
It might be useful to understand the NHS definition of recovery " The personal journey people ... take to rebuild, re-discover their strengths and live meaningful, hopeful and satisfying lives." Central & North West London NHS Trust
It is important that you know that there is hope, but I do understand that if you have been unwell for some time, you might feel that this isn't possible for you. If you are still unsure and would like to discuss this further, please feel free to get in touch.
Please note that it is impossible to guarantee recovery or to promise that you will be able to get back to everything that you did before you got ill, but please know that there are things that you can do to start to reclaim your health and I would be honoured to support you with this journey.
